Welcome to the International Aphasia Rehabilitation Conference
IARC 2026!
We are pleased to welcome you to the International Aphasia Rehabilitation Conference (IARC 2026),
taking place at Technopolis, Athens, July 1–3, 2026.
This year’s theme, “Aphasia Rehabilitation: Dynamic Challenges in a Transforming Society and World”
underscores our commitment to advancing research, clinical practice, and innovation in aphasia care.
Join leading experts and colleagues from across the globe for an enriching exchange of ideas and insights.
It is our privilege to welcome you to IARC 2026, which will take place at "Technopolis City of Athens", in Athens from 1st to 3rd of July 2026. After 22 years, we are excited to host this conference in Greece again.
Athens is a vibrant city, full of history, culture and fun. With a rich social program, we hope to share many aspects of Greek culture with you. At the same time, we will use our conference’s social events, to increase public awareness of Aphasia in Greece.
In recent years, in a rapidly changing world, aphasia rehabilitation has encountered new developments and challenges. The development of artificial intelligence and new technologies has created new opportunities not only for communication but also for learning, while we must stay focused on what people with aphasia and their carers want. The WHO Rehabilitation 2030 initiative draws attention to the profound unmet need for rehabilitation worldwide, including aphasia, and highlights the importance of strengthening health systems to provide rehabilitation. This initiative marks a new strategic approach for the global rehabilitation community.
We cordially invite you to present your recent work on aphasia rehabilitation. Our social program will provide an exciting time in Athens, including a theater night at the Ancient Epidaurus Theatre and more events.
